Why do we get sick?

If Jesus heals, why do Christians get sick?

and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.

Surely our griefs He Himself bore,
And our sorrows He carried;
Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten of God, and afflicted.
But He was pierced through for our transgressions,
He was crushed for our iniquities;
The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him,
And by His scourging we are healed.

~ Isaiah 53:4-5

When Jesus was on earth he healed everyone he met.  We are supposed to be his body, doing more than he did.  At the least, I would expect his “body,” Christians, to be healed if they’re not healing everyone else like he did.  I was sitting in my room thinking about Christians I knew.  So many of us are sick.  We get colds, the flu, have allergies, high blood pressure, paralysis, cancer, etc.  The scripture said we ARE healed.  Not were, not will be, are.  That’s not what I see.

I asked Jehovah, “If the Bible says we are healed, why are we sick?”  He answered my question, with a question:

 Which one is the lie?

Which one is the lie, the scripture that says we are healed, or that we are sick?  Well, I know the Bible is the word of God, and God cannot lie.  Satan is the father of lies.  Is he lying to us about our health?  Yes!  (Hebrews 6:18)

Spiritual warfare is fought in our minds.  That’s why 2 Corinthians 10:5 says we must take every thought captive.   Satan whispers sickness into our minds, and gives symptoms to our fleshly bodies.  If we believe that sneeze is a cold we’re catching, we get sick.  If we start feeling pain in our joints and our mother had arthritis, we believe we’re getting arthritis and receive the sickness in our bodies.  What we believe and speak manifests itself in the natural world.  We are in fact healed, and free from all sickness.  But if we submit our health to the lie of the enemy, he can give us sickness that does not belong to us.

God showed me that we have to take control of the thoughts that come into our mind.  We have to know and believe and have faith in the healing of Jesus.  If we believe for a second that we have a headache, then we have a headache.  Don’t believe the lie.  Don’t believe the lie that you are going to get germs from the kid that coughed on you.  It is an exercise of faith.

Once I learned to conquer the inception of sickness, I started working on kicking out sickness that was already manifest in my body.  I have lived free of simple things like colds and the flu for years.  I’ve conquered bigger things, but am still working on things I’ve had since birth, like allergies.  I will not let the sacrifice of my savior go in vain.  I will not live in sickness.  He died to save me, but suffered (received stripes) so I would not have to suffer with sickness.

You ARE healed.  Any symptom or sickness you have in your body is a LIE.  Once you can separate yourself from your condition, you can conquer the spirit of infirmity.  The enemy has been defeated.  Exercise your faith in the healing Jesus delivered to you.  Let our health be a glory to our father in heaven.  Even here on earth, let no Christian say, “I am sick.”  (Isaiah 33:24)  Know the truth of your healing.
